I have been involved as a student, practitioner, and teacher in the world of medicine and the healing arts for over 30 years. The realization that I had been given a gift to help others heal came completely unexpected during my life as a critical care nurse. I went to visit a man who had postoperative complications immediately following heart surgery. He was in a coma, on a respirator and had a very high fever without having an infection. The doctors felt had happened to the area of his brain, perhaps a stroke during surgery. As I stood by him I felt compelled to touch his head – I couldn’t stop the impulse it was so strong. I pulled the curtain around his bed, took a deep breath, and placed my hand on his forehead. I saw a brilliant light and felt completely alive, purposeful, inspired, and humbled by the experience of energy that was moving through me and my hands. It lasted only a few minutes, and I was called several hours later by a family member to tell me that the man had woken up, was completely revived, and was off the respirator and sitting in a chair. It was a life-changing experience - one that began my focused journey deeper into the art and the mystery of healing.
MEETING THE CHAKRA OVERTONE DRUM
I learned, grew and worked with individuals and groups in the field of subtle energy healing, sound healing, Continuum movement, and transformational therapies for the next three decades, although I never once again felt that same compelling force to place my hands on someone until I heard Hidai play the chakra overtone drum. He played during a group I was leading, and the impact was astonishing.

Not only was I affected, but everyone in the room was deeply touched on all levels - physically, emotionally, and energetically. My whole system leaped in joyous remembrance of what it means to be in the field of profound healing energy. The tones are tuned precisely to the frequencies of our bodies and energy fields, so that they effortlessly evoke and facilitate each person’s receptive and functional flow - clearing, balancing, harmonizing, and allowing each person to shift into a state of responsive alignment that is essential for healing and transformation. I also noticed that once the chakra overtone drumming is complete in any session, there is a period of stillness in the whole system where the effects are being integrated, followed by a phase shift in the overall field of the person or group.
I am so grateful to have met both Yadin and Hidai - they are visionary in their work, generous with their extraordinary talents, and deeply committed to the work of healing. They live from the heart and so it is no surprise that their creation, the COD, and their application of it, is inspired by the heart. It is truly an important vessel for all of humanity. The inspired rhythms of life that come from the COD truly serve humanity and all life, as its resonant properties invoke the embodied remembering of harmony, peace, joy, and health. I cannot say enough in praise of these men and their offerings with the COD - What a blessing and a gift!

My name is Tamar, I've been working with kids since 2001. In the past 7 years, I am leading my own kindergarten, ages 2-5, that works under a unique model of child and parent support. It is very special.
In 2016 I was introduced to the Chakra Overtone Drum, I listened to its music and immediately purchased one for the kids, without knowing yet the full effect that it will bring - IT IS UNBELIEVABLE!! The kids were so quick to embrace the COD into their daily life, intuitively playing on this friendly colorful instrument, expressing their state of mind and using it for self-relaxation. So do the parents.
Whenever the sound of the COD is carried through the rooms, I can feel the natural soothing vibrations that surround and unite whoever is present in that space. I personally play it any time I feel the need to get synchronized with myself ... with a child ... with a parent... or with the whole group.

My name is Dror Gomel, B.ED in special education, a teacher and a therapist of rhythm and sound. In the past 12 years of working in this field, I have been developing a method, using West African drums and rhythms as therapeutic tools. I work in special education schools, youth hostels, and special centers in both formal and informal education systems. A year ago I've started integrating the COD amongst the other instruments I use in my practice, the results are amazing!
Here are a few reactions to the work with the COD:

In a school for kids with learning disabilities and special needs, the COD has become a part of the school's routine. At any given time, there is someone playing it in the yard, freely and without guidance. They call it a "COD station" and the kids refer to it as a place they can go and relax, cleans, focus, and calm down.

I gave a music workshop in a nursing home. At the end of it, I took the COD and started playing intuitively. A 93-year-old lady came up to me and asked if I can play for her some more. To her enormous surprise, after not hearing for years through her left ear, she could hear the frequencies of the COD. I stayed and played for her for a long while … she was in bliss.

At a special daycare for kids with cerebral palsy and Down syndrome, I met a young boy paralyzed almost in his entire body, He could barely move his right hand. Using his hand, he holds the small gentle mallet, I hold the COD for him and slowly spin it around as he taps gently. The feeling of success and sense of capability washes him over while the sound he produces evokes joy and laughter. When this beautiful boy plays my COD, he is someone else!
My work with the COD is about trying and learning. It is intuitive and easy. I see amazing results both in young children and adults using it, each one in his own unique way.

These drums help me to take a pause from the outside world and get lost within myself. Each drum serves a purpose for me at the moment. The Minor really helps me to process the depths. The Major has helped me to send my students out of a yoga class or sound bath with joyful energy. The Harp is a sacred treasure. My favorite tool to use all around my clients during a reiki session, or floating Savasana.
I use these instruments as a healing tool. A daily reminder to play, get curious, and share the love with my unique energetic expression. I have found courage, compassion, trust, and joy through this drum. As well as this amazing opportunity to be in community with other COD owners. Some of the kindest people I know and some of my best friends.

"In 2015, a friend sent me a link to the COD website. When I heard this instrument, my heart sang!"
I bought one in 2016 and my 94-year-old mother fell in love with it. Every time I played it for her when I would stop, she would say “more!”. She especially loved the higher tones related to the 5th , 6th, and 7th chakras. When she was diagnosed with stomach cancer 2 years later, it shifted to the bottom notes which related to the area where her cancer was. She knew nothing of chakras but inherently felt the healing of these tones in her body. When she passed to the other side (not from cancer), I played the COD to help with her transition. What a gift to me!
